We Suck at Understanding!

My sources come from a Chan site, particularly a screen capture of a thread, but I can no longer find it anymore.

Particularly it was a quote from “Akira Toriyama”, I can not specifically quote word for word, in fact, it probably was not what he said, but I will type what he taught me and the
point of it:

…To people who say this sucks, they are the people who suck! It is their fault for not having the ability to understand why this masterpiece is great. That is why, when I have people who like my work, I am happy for them. And for the people who do not, I can not do anymore for them. It is a balance, people who understand your work, and people who do not…

I will always remember that! Always! Because it had changed my world one hundred and eighty degrees. Looking back at the things that I said sucked, I realized now that it was my fault. I suck! It was my fault for not understanding such a great piece of work was awesome!

Recently, I hated this one anime or cartoon called, “Code Geass”. The story was flawed all over the place, but many people loved it! I did not understand why they did but still I hated it with a passion.

But it was still my fault for not having the ability to understand, to enjoy, to be pleased…

Thus, to people who create things, remember, you kick ass! You did your best, and no one can understand that. That’s why when they look at your piece, and say it sucks, remember this article: IT’S THEM THAT SUCKS!

And to people who can not understand, or who are sucking. Remember this article, and tell people, “I can’t understand ‘Photoshop’ well”, it might be better than saying, “I suck at Photoshop.”

(If anyone has the screen capture of the thread quoting Akira Toriyama, please send me it!)
